SPLIT, July 9 (Hina) - A multinational company Redemix has become the
majority owner of Croatia's cement factory 'Dalmacijacement' by buying
51 percent of shares for 160 million German marks.
On this occasion, the Dalmacijacement director, Zvonimir Radic,
said on Wednesday that almost all problems of 3,000 workers, had been
solved, and none of the employees would be dismissed.
The new majority owner had settled the debt of Split's factory,
Radic said and added that 160 million German marks entered Croatia by
through the sale of shares.
A Redemix management member, Paul Abbor, said that a process of
technological rehabilitation had commenced in Dalmacijacement where
plants were currently being exploited only 40 percent. But, an aim would
be that the factory can work at full capacity, and that's why more than
100 million German marks would be invested in the factory, he added.
German Ambassador to Croatia, Volker Haak, attended Wednesday's
presentation of Dalmacijacement and Redemix plans.
