ILOK, July 25 (Hina) - The second deputy mayor of the eastern Croatian
town of Ilok was elected on Friday's session of the town council when
Pero Bozic of the Serb Democratic Independent Party (SDSS) was named for
this post.
At the previous session of the town council, SDSS members had
insisted that there would be only one deputy mayor and that only an SDSS
member assume the post, but on Friday they accepted that Ilok had two
deputy mayors and that an SDSS member should take the post along with
the other deputy mayor who is a Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) member.
Furthermore, Ivan Mrsic, Ivan Matic, Toma Grgic and Slobodan Savic
who had been elected into the Ilok Administration at the first session,
were on Friday replaced by Velimir Bastajic and Sreten Subotic, both of
the SDSS, and by Pero Bozic, whereas the fourth vacant place will be
filled by the same party's member at the next session.
Thus, the SDSS has six out of 26 mandates in the town council, and
four out of 13 places in the administration.
Friday's session of the town council also revolved round local
issues.
