ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - Parliamentary delegations of Croatia and India
discussed cooperation between the two countries in Zagreb on Friday. The
delegations were headed by parliament presidents, Croatia's Vlatko
Pavletic and India's Purno Agitok Sangma.
The Indian parliamentary delegation today arrived in Croatia for a
five-day visit.
Croatia was interested in an overall improvement of relations with
India, said Pavletic, especially in economy, since there existed great
possibilities. The president of the Croatian parliament pointed out that
even in the former Yugoslavia, Croatia accounted for the majority of
trade relations with India.
India attached considerable significance to relations with Croatia,
the president of the Indian parliament pointed out, adding that India
would soon appoint an ambassador there, to be based in Zagreb. He also
announced that India's trade minister would visit the Croatian capital
in the autumn.
Sangma invited Pavletic to visit India at the head of a Croatian
parliamentary delegation, which Pavletic was pleased to accept.
During their visit to Croatia, the Indian delegation should also
visit Split and Dubrovnik on the coast.
