ZAGREB, June 13 (Hina) - A three day work conference on the prevention
of organized crime in Croatia ended on Friday.
The conference, held at the Police Academy of the Croatian Interior
Ministry in Zagreb, gathered representatives of the Croatian and
Slovenian interior ministries, representatives of the Croatian
ministries of defense, economy and justice, as well as representatives
of customs administration and the state attorney's office.
Closing the conference, Croatian Assistant Interior Minister Zeljko
Sacic said he was satisfied the conference successfully defined the
notion of "organized crime", whose ultimate aim would be extremely
useful in everyday crime fighting practice.
Through a statistics base on the movement of organized crime, it
will be possible to build a more adequate strategy in the general
prevention of crime, Sacic pointed out.
