SARAJEVO, June 10 (Hina) - Two police officers from Drvar, western BH,
were dismissed after warnings by international organizations that they
were probably connected with arson in the area.
According to UN spokesman Aleksandar Ivanko, the international
police command had been informed that Miroslav Frankic, crime department
chief, and Zarko Sokcic, special anti-terrorist unit commander, were no
longer employees of the Drvar police station.
He recalled a report by IPTF on the situation in Drvar, which
assessed there existed a "long list of criminal offences and instances
of organized crime, for which police employees and local politicians in
Drvar were accountable."
"There is evidence on persons who directly took part in that,
especially on Miroslav Frankic and Zarko Sokcic. They are also mentioned
in a report on the situation in Drvar issued by the International Crisis
Group", Ivanko told reporters in Sarajevo.
