ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) - Croatian Education and Sports Minister Ljilja
Vokic on Thursday held a meeting with representatives of UNTAES, headed
by Gerard Fischer, the Croatian Education and Sports Ministry said in a
statement.
The meeting ascertained that agreement has been reached and that
all issues relating to school certificates, employment and seminar
organization have been solved.
It has been agreed that syllabuses for members of the Serb national
minority should be implemented by including contents relating to
history, geography, art and music into Croatian syllabuses. Still to be
solved is the issue of teaching Serb language and literature in relation
to Croatian language and literature. Four school hours of Croatian
language and literature are compulsory, the statement said, pointing out
it is up to Serbs if they want to study the Serb language additionally,
or add parts of it to the regular Croatian language study.
