SARAJEVO, June 10 (Hina) - The UN High Commission for Refugees would
this week begin with the reconstruction of 104 houses in the Gorazde
area (eastern BH) to accommodate refugees from this area currently
situated in Sarajevo, UNHCR spokesman Ariane Quentier told reporters in
Sarajevo on Tuesday.
The prefab houses, each worth 12,000 German marks, would be erected
by a Bosnian company, while the project was financed by the Swedish
Rescue Service Organization, in cooperation with the Sarajevo and
Gorazde cantonal authorities, Quentier said.
She added that the first 52 houses would be built in the district
of Focanska Jabuka, at the entrance to the "corridor" which connects
Gorazde with the rest of the Bosnian Federation. The remaining houses
would be erected in Praca.
Today, Quentier also announced that UNHCR intended to improve bus
lines between Drvar, western BH, and the rest of the country. A regular
line for buses with UNHCR plates would be established next week from
Drvar towards central BH, she said, adding that the existing line
connecting Drvar with Banja Luka would travel to Bosansko Grahovo and
Livno in south western BH.
