After the talks, Filipovic said that today's meeting was the first
one on the question of electronic media, adding he had explained in
detail to Serb representatives regulations of Croatia's Law on
Electronic Media.
The Serb representatives proposed that the Joint Council of
Municipalities of eastern Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem be the
owner of radio stations and local television of the Serb national
minority in the Croatian Danube river region, but that is not in line
with legal regulations on property relations, Filipovic said.
There are several radio and TV stations in the Croatian Danubian
area which are broadcasting their program illegally. Those include radio
stations in Vukovar, Beli Manastir, Mirkovci and Borovo and TV studios
in Vukovar and Beli Manastir.
