SARAJEVO, Feb 28 (Hina) - An unknown person on Thursday night
threatened with mining the Catholic church in Travnik, central
Bosnia, the town's parish priest's office said on Friday.
According to information by Sarajevan Catholic Press Agency,
the local police, after learning about the threat, undertook
the necessary protection measures and guarded the church.
The threat scared and unsettled Catholics and their
priests, the press agency said, adding that aide to Sarajevan
bishop, Monsignor Pero Sudar, today received Federal Interior
Minister Mehmed Zilic and his deputy Jozo Leutar.
On the occasion of the meeting, the Bosnian Federation's
Interior Ministry issued a statement, which said the talks
focused on the 26 February mining of a Catholic church in
Donji Vakuf. As earlier attacks on Catholic churches, this one
was aimed at overthrowing the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, but also at preventing the Pope's visit to
Sarajevo, the statement said.
