MOSTAR, Feb 11 (Hina) - Mostar mayor Ivan Prskalo on Tuesday met the
president of the Sarajevo-based European Commission for Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Donat Chiarini, for talks on the situation in Mostar following Monday's
incidents.
Prskalo told reporters after the talks that he had sent a letter to
the Mostar regional office of the international community's high
representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina asking him to arrange a meeting of
Croat and Moslem officials in Mostar.
He said that he had tried several times to meet Moslem officials, but
that they had not responded to his call.
"I asked Mr Chiarini to use his authority to persuade the political
authorities of the Bosniac (Moslem) people to defuse the situation in Mostar
and start a dialogue," Prskalo said.
