SARAJEVO, Feb 3 (Hina) - The office of Carl Bildt, the top
international peace administrator in Bosnia-Herzegovina, on
Monday deplored thoroughly violence which Serbian police used
against demonstrators in Belgrade on Sunday night and warned
Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic that he would face
consequences, unless such acts stopped.
President Milosevic had to give up using violence and
abandon forever the thought that the crisis in the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia/Montenegro) could be settled if
elections results were disregarded, a spokesman for Bildt said
at a news conference in Sarajevo.
The spokesman Colum Murphy said the crisis in Belgrade
and other Serbian towns could be overcome only through
dialogue and political compromise, and warned that the
international community would strongly condemn any other
attempt such as violence to settle the problem.
The Bildt's office requested from Milosevic to show
restraint, and accept dialogue and respect for the elections
results.
