CROATIA'S SDA SAYS IT MAY WIN 5% OF VOTE AT ELECTIONS IN SOME TOWN

Autor:
TOWN $ S RIJEKA, Jan 18 (Hina) - The goal of the SDA (Party of Democratic Action) is that Bosniaks (Moslems) have their true representative in the Croatian Parliament and that they have their deputies at the local level, said the leader of the SDA of Croatia, Semso Tankovic on Saturday's news conference in Rijeka. According to Tankovic, the SDA was negotiating with several parties with which it may stand for the forthcoming elections in order to fulfill the goal. Local elections and elections for the Croatian Parliament House of Counties are due to be in the middle of March. Tankovic added that an analysis showed that the SDA party could run for local elections independently in the towns of Zupanja, Dubrovnik, Labin and Rasa where it could win a five percent of the vote. Coalition partners might enable the party to be successful at local elections in Sisak, Pula, Rijeka, Zagreb, Split and Umag where it could get, by itself, from a three to four percent of the vote. At the state level the SDA wants such partners which will enable the Bosniaks (Moslems) to have their authentic representative in the Croatian Parliament (Sabor), he said.
