OSIJEK, 20 Jan (Hina) - The border crossing Knezevo-Udvar, on the Croatian-Hungarian border, in the U.N.-administered area of eastern Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem, is as of Monday open for transport of goods in transit. The
first vehicle bearing Croatian license plates officially entered Croatia from Hungary via Knezevo-Udvar border-crossing around 1 p.m., the head of Osijek customs office, Zdravko Milic, told the Croatian news agency Hina.
OSIJEK, 20 Jan (Hina) - The border crossing Knezevo-Udvar, on the
Croatian-Hungarian border, in the U.N.-administered area of eastern
Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem, is as of Monday open for
transport of goods in transit.
The first vehicle bearing Croatian license plates officially
entered Croatia from Hungary via Knezevo-Udvar border-crossing
around 1 p.m., the head of Osijek customs office, Zdravko Milic,
told the Croatian news agency Hina. #L#
"The border-crossing will work every day from 8 a.m. to 6
p.m., exclusively according to Croatian customs regulations.
Employees at the border-crossing are Croatian customs
officials. The border-crossing also has a forwarding department, a
veterinary inspection and a Slavonska banka office", Milic said.
Knezevo-Udvar border-crossing is open for vehicles carrying
goods in transit, including vehicles with Croatian license plates.
Goods transport through the region of Baranja to other parts
of Croatia is also allowed.
Speaking about preparations for the opening of the border-
crossing, Milic thanked Hungarian customs officials, Transitional
Administrator Jacques Klein and his associates for cooperation.
Croatian customs officials are also located at the border-
crossings of Erdut, Ilok 1, Ilok 2 and Tovarnik.
