ZAGREB, Jan 22 (Hina) - Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic and
his associates met an UNTAES delegation headed by the chief of the
civil affairs department, Gerard Fusher, to discuss preparations
for elections in the Croatian Danubian area, the Government's
public relations office said on Wednesday.
The two delegations discussed the schedule of preparations
for the election, which is to take place on March 16. They
especially focused on the issuing of Croatian documents and the
registration of voters.
The Croatian Government gave guarantees that all the necessary
funds and personnel for the registration of voters who came to the
Danubian area after 1991 was available.
Also discussed was the voting of Croatian refugees. Minister
Kostovic presented a draft list of polling places for refugees,
drawn up in cooperation with the Office for Refugees, the
Association of Refugees and representatives of exiled mayors and
county authorities.
