Foreign Ministry said. #L#
Granic expressed optimism about successful completion of the
process of peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area in
line with Resolution 1079 of the U.N. Security Council. Once the
reintegration process was completed, Croatia would be able to turn
completely to its admission to Central-European and Euro-Atlantic
integration processes and domestic economic development, Granic
said.
Elections in the Croatian Danubian area, scheduled for 16
March, the same day when local and elections for the Parliament
House of Counties in other parts of Croatia will take place, are
the basis for the establishment of local bodies of authority within
30 days. They are the most important precondition for the
successful completion of reintegration, Granic stressed.
The two officials agreed that the successful cooperation
between Croatia and OSCE should be continued. They also discussed
modalities of the OSCE mission work in the Croatian Danubian area,
the statement said.
