SDA THREATENS POLITICAL OPPONENTS IN VELIKA KLADUSA

( Editorial: --> 6929 ) LIVNO, 8 Oct (Hina)- The international police force are worried about large scale threatening of the members of the Democratic People's Union (DNZ) by members of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Velika Kladusa. These fears were augmented by last week's riot in the centre of the town, staged by about 100 motorised SDA's fans, International Police Task Force (IPTF) spokesman Allun Roberts said at Thursday's press briefing in Livno, southern Bosnia-Herzegovina. After they gathered in the town centre, the rioters provoked and physically harassed passers-by who do not belong to their party, Roberts said. Fikret Abdic's DNZ won more voices in Velika Kladusa than Izetbegovic's SDA at last September's election. Speaking about the completion of the constitution of the multi- ethnic police in the Herzeg-Bosnia Canton, IPTF's spokesman claimed that in spite of a reshuffle amongst its commanders the Drvar police department had not yet become sufficiently involved in investigation of arsons and other incidents in the municipality. Roberts added that the Drvar police department would gradually employ a certain number of Serb police officers. Deputy spokesman for SFOR's Multi-national Division for South- West, Cpt. Andrew Herberts, announced that the repair of the railway Knin (Croatia)- Bosanski Novi (northern BH) would be officially opened for traffic after repair on October 11. (hina) mr/rml 082038 MET oct 98
