SARAJEVO/BANJA LUKA, Sept 18 (Hina) - The United States government
is not interested in who will be in power in Bosnia after the just
completed general elections but in whether governing political
forces will be consistent in implementing the Dayton peace
agreement, special US envoy for the Balkans Robert Gelbard said on
Friday.
According to the ONASA news agency, after visiting Sarajevo
yesterday, Gelbard held talks in Banja Luka with Bosnian Serb
President Biljana Plavsic and Premier Milorad Dodik.
My arrival to Bosnia after last weekend's elections has been
previously announced, Gelbard told reporters in Banja Luka.
Gelbard said he had discussed with Dodik, who he said was still in
office, the functioning of the Bosnian Serb government.
All Bosnian Serb political parties promised they would implement
the peace agreement.
It is interesting to recall what some of these parties did in the
past, Gelbard said, but added if some decided to support the
implementation of the peace agreement, the US would be happy.
