ZAGREB, Sept 24 (Hina) - Italian support for Croatia's bid for
membership in the European Union's PHARE assistance programme and
expansion of bilateral cooperation in the area of tourism were top
on the agenda during Thursday's inaugural meeting of a Croatian-
Italian work group for tourism.
The meeting also initialled a protocol on co-operation in the field
of tourism.
In accordance with a Croatian initiative presented by Deputy
Tourism Minister Vinka Cetinski, the protocol comprises
cooperation in the tourism and hotel industry, especially small and
medium-sized businesses, tour operations, winter and medical
tourism, education, research and management.
The Croatian delegation was headed by Cetinski and the Italian one
by Stefano Landi, head of the Italian Tourism Department.
