SARAJEVO, Sept 22 (Hina) - The Organisation for Cooperation and
Security in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Bosnia-Herzgovina expressed
its gratitude to the Croatian Office for Displaced Persons and
Refugees for the great efforts exuded during the Bosnian general
elections.
A statement issued on Tuesday by the Sarajevo OSCE office notes that
without the help of the Croatian refugee office the OSCE would not
have been as successful in the organisation of voting for B-H
citizens currently living in Croatia.
The OSCE especially noted the refugee office's timely and effective
informing of voters who were sometimes misguided by those
organisations which deliberately wished to negatively influence
the elections for their own political objectives.
The OSCE statement said that ballots which were accepted from
people who were not registered in electoral rolls, would be checked
and considered valid if citizens who filled them in indeed had the
right to vote in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Cooperation between the OSCE and the Croatian government's office
for refugees was conducted with the mediation of the International
Organisation for Migration and its section responsible for out-of-
country voting.
