SARAJEVO, Sept 4 (Hina) - Representatives of ten opposition parties
from Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia met in Sarajevo on Friday to
discuss a firmer and permanent cooperation in the future.
Leaders of opposition parties from the Muslim-Croat Bosnian
Federation and leading Croatian opposition figures including
Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) president Zlatko Tomcic and
Croatian People's Party (HNS) vice-president Stipe Mesic as well as
representatives of Croatia's Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS)
attended the meeting.
Although invited, representatives of the Social Democratic Party
of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Croatian Social Democratic Party and
the Croatian Socio-Liberal Party (HSLS) failed to turn up.
Ivo Komsic, chairman of the Croat National Council of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, which organised the meeting, told reporters that the
meeting was successful even though representatives of some parties
failed to arrive at the talks.
He said the ten parties would establish a special working group
which would define the principles of future cooperation.
Parties from the Bosnian Serb entity are also expected to join in
the efforts, he said.
