SARAJEVO, Aug 30 (Hina) - General Stanko Sopta, commander of the
Federation Army First Guard, has been suspended due to unallowed
movements of his unit.
Kresimir Zubak, Croat member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency,
told Hina on Sunday evening that he had ordered Gen. Sopta's
temporary suspension.
"I have done that at the request of the Stabilisation Force
commander, Gen. Eric Shinseki, and have asked the Joint Command and
Federation Defence Ministry to investigate claims which prompted
Gen. Shinseki to demand Sopta's suspension. Once an investigation
is over, I will make a final decision," Zubak said.
As the Croat member of the BH Presidency, Zubak also holds the
office of the civil commander of Croat units in the Federation
Army.
