PULA, Aug 24 (Hina) - A tanker for transporting oil, oil products
and chemicals was officially transferred to the ownership of
Monrovia's Vygo Shipping Company in Pula's Uljanik shipyard on
Monday.
A contract on the hand-over of the "Laptev Sea" was signed by a
representative of the Monrovian company, Robert Thompson, and
Dario Marchi, the Pula shipyard sales manager.
The carrying capacity of "Laptev Sea" is 47,357 tonnes.
The ship is 182.50m long, 32.20m wide and 17.50m high.
It is powered by an Uljanik main engine which enables a top cruising
speed of 15.33 knots.
Uljanik currently has another ten firm contracts for the
construction of ships for different purposes.
