CROATIA EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM

( Editorial: --> 5099 ) ZAGREB, Aug 21 (Hina) - Croatia has backed Thursday's American missile strikes on alleged terrorist targets in Afghanistan and Sudan as part of international efforts to fight terrorism. "The Republic of Croatia strongly condemns any act of terrorism and actively supports international efforts against all kinds of terrorism," the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Friday afternoon. "As it has already been announced, the Croatian Government was appalled by the recent terrorist attacks against US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, something that understandably and expectedly, provoked a resolute response of the US Government and Armed Forces. "In sincere hope that a new violent and terrorist circle will not be initiated, Croatia reiterates its firm position that the cooperation in combating all kinds of terrorism is the obligation of the entire international community," the statement said.
