BUENOS AIRES, July 31 (Hina) - Croatia's charge d'affaires to
Argentina, Ivo Radovic, on Thursday night handed the Argentine
Foreign Ministry a request for the extradition of Nada (Esperanza)
Tambic de Bilanovic Sakic to Croatia, according to an announcement
by the Croatian Embassy in Buenos Aires.
In accordance with the South American country's regulations the
Argentina Foreign Ministry will pass on the extradition request to
the public prosecutor, the embassy said.
As the case was with her husband Dinko, Sakic's file will then be
passed on to judge Hernan Bernasconi in the town of Dolores in the
Province of Buenos Aires.
Mr Sakic, the former commander of the Jasenovac concentration camp
during World War II, was extradited to Croatia in mid-June and an
investigation against him is currently underway at the Zagreb
County Court.
His wife is accused of torturing and inhumanely treating civilians
and using intimidation and terror as an official at the Stara
Gradiska concentration camp between later 1942 and early 1945.
