SARAJEVO, Aug 18 (Hina) - The Independent Media Centre (IMC) in
Bosnia-Herzegovina said Monday's meeting with the general director
of the Croatian Radio and Television (HRT), Ivica Vrkic, was held to
discuss requests forwarded as demarches to the Croatian government
regarding programmes broadcast by HRT.
In a statement sent to Hina on Tuesday, the IMC said the focus of
talks between Vrkic and IMC main director Krister Thenil and head of
the media monitoring sector, Kenneth Lindsay, was the re-
transmitting of HRT programmes in Bosnia-Herzegovina, especially
the contents of programmes and ownership of transmission
equipment.
The IMC is currently considering these issues and will reach
adequate decisions as soon as all facts are gathered, the Centre
said.
The statement also said the EROTEL company in Mostar which
transmits HRT programmes had on Monday submitted answers to a
questionnaire the IMC had sent last week-
EROTEL was requested to submit a request for permission to transmit
HRT programmes, and to supplement the request with certain
information.
The IMC will publish its decision on the request soon, the statement
said.
