OSIJEK, July 9 (Hina) - All uncertainties concerning the status of
the transitional municipality of Tenja, established by UN
Transitional Administrator Jacques Klein for a period of one year,
have been removed by a communication received on Wednesday from the
Croatian Administration Ministry, head of the Osijek County
administration office, Franjo Zdravcevic, said Thursday.
The deadline set by Administrator Klein expired on June 30 and
according to the communication, the former transitional
municipality will no longer be a separate administrative unit and
will be taken over by the town of Osijek, Zdravcevic said.
The municipality will continue to function as a local committee.
The take-over ceremony will be attended by town and county
officials, Zdravcevic said adding that Tenja residents will decide
whether they want one or two local committees.
