GENEVA, June 26 (Hina) - Croatian representatives on Friday
presented the Programme for the Return and Accommodation of
Displaced Persons, Refugees and Exiled Persons to international
representatives in Geneva.
The programme was presented at a meeting of a Council for
Implementation of Peace working group for humanitarian issues by
Assistant Foreign Minister Josko Paro and the head of the
Government Office for Displaced Persons and Refugees, Lovre
Pejkovic.
The meeting was attended by diplomats from all Contact Group
member-countries and the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees.
The participants expressed satisfaction with the programme
stressing that the international community would from now on pay
special attention to its implementation.
Closing the discussion, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Sadako
Ogata welcomed the fact that the Croatian National Parliament had
adopted the Return Programme adding she expected the document to be
effectively applied.
