PRISTINA, May 13 (Hina) - Serb forces for over an hour and half
Wednesday morning shelled the village of Cerovik in the Klina
municipality (near Drenica), the Kosovo Information Centre
reported Wednesday.
Many homes are damaged, but there are no reports of any casualties.
It is alleged that there was a strong defence against the Serb
forces, who attempted to enter the village.
The Information Centre also announced that the Serb forces
continued to shell another three villages in the Orahovica
municipality, where yesterday there were many clashes, and gun
shots were continued towards the village of Laushi, also in the
Drenica area which has been surrounded since March 5.
Sources from the Democratic Union of Kosovo in Klina, said
Wednesday that three wounded police officers were admitted to the
local hospital.
Because of the mounting tensions in Kosovo, the last of a group of 28
Polish mine workers who worked in the Trepci mine, the largest mine
in Kosovo, left work and returned to Poland. Fifty-two Polish mine
workers were employed at the Trepci mine.
