JERUSALEM, May 11 (Hina) - The visit by the Croatian Foreign
Minister Mate Granic represents a new beginning in the better
cooperation between Israel and Croatia, Jerusalem Mayor Ehud
Olmert said during his meeting with Granic on Monday.
The past is important and one should learn from it so as to be able to
build the future, Olmert said expressing hope that Granic's visit
to Israel would be a turning point in relations between the two
countries.
Granic informed Olmert about the situation in Croatia and the wish
of Croatia and Zagreb to improve cooperation and contacts with
Israel and Jerusalem.
Jerusalem would like to cooperate with Zagreb, Olmert said adding
there were various forms of cooperation between Jerusalem and other
cities.
I hope it would be possible to realise such a cooperation with
Zagreb as well, Olmert said.
At the end of the meeting, Olmert presented Granic with a monograph
of Jerusalem.
