ZAGREB, May 6 (Hina) - Dinko Sakic, who was commander of the "Stara
Gradiska" concentration camp and deputy commander of the Jasenovac
concentration camp during World War II, could be extradited by
Argentina to Croatia on Saturday, May 9.
"According to information given to me, Sakic could be extradited to
Croatia on Saturday," Sakic's ex officio attorney, Ivan Kern, told
Hina in a telephone conversation Thursday.
Kern was appointed attorney for Sakic by the president of the Zagreb
County Court in April.
Argentinean President Carlos Menem could confirm the judge's
decision to defer Sakic on Thursday, Kern said. He added that he had
been informed that Sakic had waived the right to appeal against the
extradition decision.
Argentinean federal judge Hernan Bernasconi on Tuesday signed the
decision on Sakic's extradition to Croatia.
