COUNCIL FOR STRATEGIC DECISIONS HOLDS SESSION

( Editorial: --> 4149 ) ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - The Council for Strategic Decisions on Thursday held a session which was chaired by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman. Participants in the session welcomed the successful talks with the US company Bechtel and the forthcoming signing of an agreement on the construction of the motorway Bregana (Croatian-Slovene border) - Zagreb-Bihac(Bosnia-Herzegovina)-Dubrovnik, with branches towards the Croatian ports of Split and Ploce and Sarajevo. It was suggested that the discussion on the government document on the procedure of return for persons who left Croatia be widened from the standpoint of preservation of national and state interests, taking into account the humanitarian aspect of the problem. Discussing the situation in Dubrovacka banka, members of the Council accepted a proposal by the Croatian National Bank Governor on initiating the financial reorganisation of the bank and increasing control over the work of commercial banks.
