SARAJEVO, Mar 3 (Hina) - President of the Bosnian Serb entity,
Biljana Plavsic, should abstain from commenting on suspected war
criminals as she recently did on Kragujevac Television, said the
High Representative's spokesman, Rida Attarashany, in Sarajevo on
Tuesday.
On that occasion Plavsic said that "Radovan Karadzic and Ratko
Mladic were symbols of a righteous and liberating battle of the Serb
people".
We sincerely wish that President Plavsic would not make such
statements, said Attarashany.
Our position in regards to war crimes suspects is clear and has not
changed, which means that all such persons should go to the Hague
and that is primarily the responsibility of the two entities'
governments, he said.
UN spokesman Aleksander Ivanko said that it would be best for
Plavsic to correct those statements as soon as possible, and she
would best do that by assuring that Bosnian Serb entity police
capture "those two individuals" and send them to the Hague.
