ZAGREB, Feb 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman received
a delegation of the Croatian World Congress (HSK) on Friday.
The delegation informed him that the HSK main committee had
commenced its annual meeting in Zagreb, at which delegates from 30
countries would discuss work to date as well as future projects.
The HSK delegation included Friar Simun Sito Coric, Josip Ante
Sovulj, Bela Tonkovic, Ivan Curman, Jure Gadze and Mato Verkic.
President Tudjman was also informed about the difficulties in the
work of HSK, a reason being the slack work by officials and members
in foreign countries.
They also discussed the bureaucratic difficulties emigrants face
when returning to Croatia.
Tudjman praised the work of HSK stating that along with stimulating
the return of emigrants to their homeland, it is necessary to gather
all Croatians in the diaspora - no matter which political party they
favour - so that they could promote Croatia and explain Croatian
policy in an organised manner.
Attending the meeting at President Tudjman's side were the
President's Chief-Of-Staff Hrvoje Sarinic and advisers Ivic
Pasalic and Zdravka Busic.
Ante Beljo, director of the Croatian Homeland Foundation,
accompanied the HSK delegation.
