ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - President of the Croatian Bishops'
Conference, the Archbishop of Zagreb Josip Bozanic, talked on
Thursday in Zagreb with the United States Ambassador to Croatia
William Montgomery.
In its report, the Catholic news agency IKA said that "Ambassador
Montgomery inquired about the status of the Catholic Church in
Croatia, especially regarding church property that was confiscated
during the Communist period".
On Thursday night the US Embassy in Zagreb also issued a brief
statement on reception of Ambassador Montgomery by Archbishop
Bozanic.
According to the statement, Archbishop Bozanic and Ambassador
Montgomery "exchanged views about a series of issues pertinent to
Croatia and the Church".
