ZAGREB, 29 Jan (Hina) - The United States Agency for International
Development (USAID) has donated $30,000 to a Croatian broadcast
journalists' group in a bid to stimulate dialogue on the
development of independent media in Croatia.
The financial support from USAID's Office for Transitional
Initiatives is designed to increase the activities of the Forum 21
group for the next six months, the US Embassy in Zagreb's
information service said in a statement released on Thursday.
These activities would include organising forums and round tables,
publishing bulletins, producing radio and television programs on
Forum 21 projects and creating web pages on the Internet, so that
the public can be informed on the status of electronic media and on
the influence of independent media in a democratic society, the
statement said.
