ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Gojko Susak
Thursday flew to the United States for an official and working visit
of several days, at the invitation of his U.S. counterpart.
Susak told reporters at Zagreb's Pleso airport he would hold
meetings with U.S. Defence Minister William Cohen and the U.S.
Deputy Secretary of State.
Talks will focus on bilateral relations, Croatia's access to Euro-
Atlantic institutions and the implementation of the Dayton Peace
Agreement in Bosnia-Herzegovina, said Susak.
Asked about Croatia's joining of NATO's Partnership for Peace
programme, the Croatian defence minister said more on the matter
would be said in a Saturday joint statement.
Asked whether he would undergo a medical examination while in
Washington, Susak, who last year underwent surgery at Walter Reed
Hospital, said he was coming back Saturday and could not do it even
if he wanted to.
Susak is accompanied by his deputy, Lt. Gen. Kresimir Cosic, the
Croatian army's chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Pavao Miljavac, and the
chief inspector for defence, Lt. Gen. Ante Gotovina.
