ZAGREB, 25 Jan (Hina) - An event, entitled "Cultural Creativity of
National Minorities in Croatia", took place in the Zagreb concert
hall "Vatroslav Lisinski" on Saturday evening.
The event, held under the auspices of the Government Office for
Ethnic and National Communities or Minorities, is part of marking
the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration
on Human Rights and the 7th anniversary of Croatia's international
recognition.
Expressing satisfaction with the fact that all national minorities
had gathered for the first time at the same place, Vice Premier
Ljerka Mintas-Hodak said the Croatian Constitution and legislation
guaranteed all national minorities the right to their cultural,
religious and national identity.
Last night's event included the presentation of publishing
activity and musical programs by Croatian minorities.
The event gathered representatives of all Croatian minorities -
Germans, Albanians, Macedonians, Bosniaks, Jews, Serbs,
Ruthenians, Ukrainians, Montenegrins, Italians, Hungarians,
Czechs, Slovaks, Gypsies and Slovenians.
