SARAJEVO,20 Jan (Hina)- On Tuesday FBH Defence Ministry denied
allegations by some media that Croatia still held some of its
regular army troops in the town of Drvar (western BH).
The Ministry's statement, which has been communicated to the media
in Sarajevo, describes allegations by the recently elected mayor of
Drvar Milan Marčeta, who told the Sarajevo newspaper "Dnevni Avaz"
that his town had been "occupied" by the Croatian army, as
completely unfounded.
The Ministry does not want to speculate what motivated Marčeta to
made his allegations and the newspaper to publish them, but it would
like to stress that the only troops in Drvar now are those of the 1st
armoured battalion of the 1st Guard Corps of the FBH Army, reads the
statement.
"The Croatian Army is not there because it left already after the
liberation of that area in 1995", says the statement.
