OSIJEK, Jan 10 (Hina) - Preparations for exhumation of mass graves
in Tovarnik, Ilok, Djeletovci, Marinci and Bogdanovci, (eastern
Croatia) began on Saturday and will continue until Monday. The
actual exhumation will begin on 19 January.
It has been estimated that around 120 bodies of persons registered
as missing could be exhumed in the area.
According to the chairwoman of the Osijek-Baranja County Missing
and Imprisoned Soldiers' Families' Association, Stefica Krstic,
exhumation should also begin in Seles, Ernestinovo, Celije,
Orlovnjak, Laslovo and Sarvas, towns in the Osijek-Baranja
County.
About 20 bodies are expected to be exhumed in that region.
Around 2,166 persons in Croatia are still registered as missing,
1,127 of them from the Vukovar-Srijem County and 227 from the
Osijek-Baranja County.
