ZAGREB, Oct 31 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic on Tuesday received Palestinian President Yaser Arafat's adviser Mohamed Nabhan, who briefed him on events in the Near East and the efforts his government was taking to renew the
peace process with Israel. "We advocate peace and peace is our strategic goal," Nabhan told reporters after talks with Mesic. "We also discussed Mesic's impending visit to Palestinian territories and Israel, as well as cooperation between Palestine and Croatia," he added. Asked about the aim of his visit to Croatia, Nabhan said he wanted to acquaint Mesic with the current situation in Palestinian territories. Asked why he wanted to brief the president of Croatia, he said: "Because we have nurtured friendly relations with Croatia since it gained independence. We recognised Croatia.
