The Hague investigators, who are carrying out exhumation works in
the presence of Croatian judicial officials and pathologists,
believe the exhumation will last a month and that they will unearth
253 bodies from an area of several hundred square metres.
Exhumation experts have been forbidden to contact reporters.
Reporters today saw from the balcony of a nearby house the beginning
of exhumation works on all five marked exhumation sites. The bodies
are put in bags and once the exhumation is completed, they will be
transferred to Zagreb for identification.
On April 17 the Hague investigators started preparations for the
exhumation in the Knin cemetery with the consent of the Croatian
government.
