ZAGREB AND BERLIN TO PREPARE AGREEMENT ON CROATS' EMPLOYMENT IN GERMANY ZAGREB, March 23 (Hina) - A joint Croatian-German working group on Friday harmonised the text of a draft agreement on the employment of Croatian workers in
Germany, the Croatian labour and social welfare ministry stated. The two sides agreed on the number of 500 workers per annum who would be granted a work permit for working on a temporary basis in Germany. The agreement should replace similar contract which Germany signed with the former Yugoslavia (SFRY) in 1988 and which have to date served as a basis for the employment of Croatian workers in Germany. During today's meeting the two sides also discussed possibilities of the employment of Croatians in that European country for the purpose of the improvement of their language knowledge and professional skills. The next meeting of the joint working group is set for the end of this year in Germany.(hina) ms
