DRNIS, March 9 (Hina) - The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and its partner, FLAG, on Friday promoted a project for the return to the war-hit Dalmatian areas (southern Croatia) in the village of Kadina
Glavica (the Split hinterland). Present at the promotion were local authorities and the USAID mission's head, Pamela Boldwin. USAID has helped local farmers to resume their production after the war, said Ante Matic, the mayor of the nearby town of Drnis. The US agency, together with the Croatian Water Supplies Management and local authorities, donated 53,000 dollars for the cleaning of over 20-kilometre-long drainage canals. Last year, the USAID granted necessary equipment, worth $73,000, to local dairies. Thanks to this backing, local dairies produce some 2,700 litres of milk per day. Ms. Boldwin said the USAID would continue supporting the recovery of the local agriculture.(h
