"We do not intend to privatise the company to Croatia's detriment
because the government must act responsibly," Racan said for
Croatian Radio when asked about Slovenia's "Triglav" remaining the
only bidder interested in the privatisation of "Croatia
osiguranje".
The government will consider a report on the privatisation of
"Croatia osiguranje" during October as announced, Racan said.
Since Germany's Allianz failed to give a more favourable offer,
talks with that bidder have ended. At the same time, although it has
been facing some ownership problems, Slovenia's Triglav has
informed the government in writing that it intends to buy 51 percent
of company shares, Racan said.
He also said that the privatisation of a part of the INA oil company
was continuing in line with the law. The actual bids of potential
partners for the purchase of 25 percent plus one share will be known
very soon.
Racan said that citizens should be able to feel the achieved
macroeconomic stability.
It is no secret that the government believes that austerity
measures are behind us and that it will be possible to define the
wage policy more flexibly, Racan said.
