"This is my objection to the Hague-based Tribunal," the Croatian
head of state told reporters during his visit to the "Kras"
confectioner in Zagreb.
Asked whether he would like to add anything to his statement of
yesterday in relation to the Tribunal's indictment against retired
83-year-old general Janko Bobetko, when he said that Bobetko, like
any other Croatian citizen, was obliged to full cooperation with
the UN tribunal, Mesic reiterated that the provisions of the
Croatian constitutional law on cooperation with the ICTY were
binding for all nationals of Croatia.
Asked whether he was expecting protest rallies, like the rallies
organised in support to another two generals, Ante Gotovina and
Rahim Ademi, indicted by the tribunal, the president responded with
a counter-question "why should one protest if Croatian laws are
enforced."
