The command of the SFOR Multinational Brigade North, based in
Tuzla, said the search was unannounced and part of the operation
"Harvest", which was aimed at collecting illegal weapons.
According to information from the field, the residents of the
village are exclusively Muslims, the village is completely
encircled, and Italian SFOR troops are banning reporters from
entering the area.
The search operation itself is being conducted by US troops.
Citing phone conversations with the villagers, BH Radio 1 reported
that the soldiers were forcibly entering empty houses.
The news agency FENA claims that the operation could be related to a
search for Al-Qaida elements in Bosnia-Herzegovina and their
preparations for terrorist operations.
