Asked by reporters if the HDZ leader and future premier-designate,
Ivo Sanader, had offered him to remain at his post, Cacic said he had
not talked with Sanader.
He added that HDZ officials were giving assurances that some
misunderstandings would be cleared up after the new government was
formed and before decisions were made on subsidised housing
construction (the so-called POS programme) and the construction of
highways.
"I do not doubt that the interests of the state, economy and
primarily Croatian citizens will be respected and that all other
interests will be pushed in the background".
