After the meeting in Slavonski Brod where he met HSS leaders from
Slavonski Brod-Posavina and Pozega-Slavonia counties, Tomcic told
reporters that he was "exceptionally satisfied" with the talks, as
they were held in an "open and fair" atmosphere regardless of the
existence of difference opinions.
"We are a party used to work in that manner and we know how to find
joint exit from every situation. What encourages me is the fact that
all my interlocutors have said they will abide by the decisions of
party bodies," Tomcic said.
He stressed that on this occasion no decision had been made but they
had only expressed opinions on a possible coalition with the HDZ.
Asked by reporters which opinion had prevailed, Tomcic said he
could not answer the question until he became acquainted with the
positions of all party branches.
Earlier on Saturday Tomcic discussed the same topics with HSS
leaders from Virovitica-Podravina and Osijek-Baranja counties,
and on Saturday evening he wrapped up his trip to east Croatia with
the visit to Vinkovci.
"Members of the HSS county committee in Vukovar-Sirmium County give
full support to the HSS President Tomcic and the party leadership in
their bids to find best solutions for the entire HSS through forming
a possible coalition with the HDZ," the committee head, Zdravko
Kelic told Hina.
