ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - The board of Croatian Employers'
Association (HUP) members on Monday relieved Zeljko Ivancevic of
duty as HUP director-general, and appointed Bernard Jakelic to this
post. #L#
Jakelic was until now the head of the HUP office in Osijek, the HUP
reported on Tuesday.
Ivancevic told reporters today that his replacement was the
consequence of a conflict between two concepts of the association's
future development. He said that he had been preparing the HUP's
reform for three years, trying to grant more powers to the board of
members and make it possible for all members, whether they were
small or big companies, to have balanced influence.
On the other hand, there are some who would like the HUP's executive
committee to remain the centre for decision-making and enhance its
powers, Ivancevic added.
