"The SDP (Social Democratic Party) says "yes" to Croatia, but 12
years ago, on June 25, when we proposed a constitutional decision on
Croatia's independence, the Social Democrats walked out of the
parliament," Sanader said at the rally in constituency no 4.
He went to say that "those who defended Croatia in the most
difficult days are today humiliated and called hunters for
privileges". One of the first laws the HDZ will adopt once it
returns to power is a new law on the rights of Croatian soldiers and
their families, Sanader said.
Special attention will be paid to the demographic revival of the
country, he said, adding that in 30 years Croatia would have one
million citizens less if the current treatment of family
continued.
The HDZ is not promising anything, it is guaranteeing higher
economic growth, employment and living standards, as well as the
integration of Croatia into the EU and NATO, Sanader said.
